During a tour of the exhibitions, the museum teacher poses questions specifically geared towards stimulating new perspectives about the photos in the museum. You discuss the visual elements and the photographer's choices.

There is a free guided tour of the museum, open to the general public, every Thursday at 7.30 p.m. The tour focuses on in-depth viewing and discovering photographic elements. There is something new to see during the tour almost every month, due to the large number of changing exhibitions.

During every school holiday, there is a workshop at Foam especially for future young photographers. At the workshop you will get inside the head of a photographer whose work is currently on show at Foam, so there is always something new to discover.

The workshop starts with a half-hour tour through the museum. Then you create a special portrait, inspired by one of the exhibitions. You act as both model and photographer during the photo session.

Foam has a project location in Amsterdam Nieuw-West where neighbourhood residents become acquainted with the power of photography. Photography is used to allow residents to think about the neighbourhood and living in it with each other.
